Miffy Santa 23 cm vs Miffy Rainbow Keychain: Holiday Gifting

Quick answer

Choose the Miffy Santa 23 cm plush when you want a main holiday gift that feels substantial and themed for Christmas. Choose the Miffy Rainbow Keychain when you need a small, useful add-on or stocking filler. If your budget allows, pair them: the plush for under the tree and the keychain for a bag or keys.

Size and presence: what each Miffy actually feels like

The Miffy Santa 23 cm plush is a handheld figure, roughly the height of a small tablet. That size makes it a cuddle companion or a shelf piece, and it reads clearly as a Christmas gift because of the white and red Santa styling. The Miffy Rainbow Keychain is 10 cm and designed for keys, bags, or small belongings. It is a decorative accent, not a toy to hug. If the recipient expects something to hold during story time, the plush wins. If they want something that goes with them to school or work, the keychain is the practical pick.

Price and value: where the money goes

At catalog prices, the Miffy Santa 23 cm is USD 22.44 (compared to USD 33.00), and the Miffy Rainbow Keychain is USD 15.00 (compared to USD 25.00). The plush costs more because it uses more material and offers a larger presence. The keychain costs less and still carries the Miffy character, which makes it a strong choice for multiple small gifts or for adding to a card. Neither is a budget toy, so think about whether you are buying a centerpiece gift or a token. For a single child’s main present, the plush justifies the extra dollars. For a classroom exchange or a little something extra, the keychain keeps costs down without feeling generic.

Gift timing and occasion fit

The Miffy Santa 23 cm is explicitly holiday-themed: white with red Santa details. That makes it ideal for Christmas morning, a St. Nicholas Day gift, or a December birthday. Outside the holiday season, it may feel out of place. The Miffy Rainbow Keychain in offwhite is not holiday-specific, so it works for birthdays, back-to-school, or a just-because gift. If you are shopping in October or November for a December gift, the Santa plush is the more festive choice. If you need a gift that works year-round, the keychain is more flexible.

Practical care and everyday use

Plush toys like the Miffy Santa 23 cm need occasional surface cleaning and a spot where they won’t be dragged through mud. The keychain is easier to keep clean because it hangs on a bag or keys, but the corduroy texture on the Miffy Flat Keychain ECO Corduroy (a similar 10 cm option) can pick up lint. For the Rainbow Keychain, wipe with a damp cloth and avoid soaking the hardware. If the recipient is rough on belongings, a keychain may show wear faster than a plush kept at home. Consider who will use it daily and how much maintenance they will realistically do.

When a bundle makes more sense

The Bon Ton Toys Bundle combines one friend from each Bon Ton Toys family: Miffy, Peanuts, and Bon Ton Toys originals. At USD 41.06 (compared to USD 58.65), it costs more than either single item but gives three characters. If you are buying for a household with mixed preferences, or you want a gift that covers multiple children, the bundle can replace two separate purchases. It also solves the “which character?” problem by including several. The trade-off is that you don’t get the specific Santa theme or the keychain’s portability. Choose the bundle when variety matters more than a single focused gift.

Trade-offs at a glance

• Miffy Santa 23 cm: Larger plush with holiday-specific Santa styling. Costs more and is less useful outside December. Best as a main Christmas gift for a child who wants a cuddly toy.
• Miffy Rainbow Keychain: Small, portable, and year-round friendly. Less substantial as a standalone gift and not a cuddle toy. Best as a stocking filler, add-on, or gift for an older fan who carries a bag.
• Bon Ton Toys Bundle: Includes multiple characters for broader appeal. Higher total cost and no single holiday theme. Best when you need one gift for several children or a mixed-character household.
